Nick Whiu's web portfolio

I help people to express their vision online by developing high quality websites with simple user-interfaces that react quickly and reliably. I support open socially aware technologies.

Here is a selection of my work.

Colabel

Colabel wanted a slick online footware and clothing store for multiple countries. We made sure the website was simple, extremely fast, and unlike many online stores - have the easiest most stress-free purchase process. Extra care was given to ensure the site would look and function well on mobile phones. Although the online store was a pleasure to use, it was closed mid 2014.

large scale distributed service oriented architecture, webservices, agile teamwork

Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) provide a wide range of services for farmers world-wide. I was part of the large team tasked with updating Protract Vector to connect their milking-shed touchscreen with web services allowing data integration and online farm management. The architecture had to be tough yet flexible due to thousands of customers, thousands of animals per customer and extensive farm animal information. Service oriented architecture was chosen to reduce duplication in the database, code and business. With huge big business change of this project, a complex architecture and a very tight deadline the pressure was on but the project launch was a success.
